Warm, Lightweight, Not Scratchy By Seattlelite from Seattle, WA on 07/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this on a backpacking trip - as a layering piece with two other Icebreaker tops. WOW! I will definitely stick with this company again. I usually take a thicker itchy wool sweater backpacking (I was in the mountains) but this one easily did the trick - lighter weight, not itchy, and cute to boot. I think I might wear it skiing or just around town during the winter.
Fabulous color and weight By Urbanbabyboomer from Boston on 05/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wonderful, easily washable wool sweater for all kinds of activities, including travel. It's a great, lively, shade of blue, fashionable, but also very warm for its weight.
By THE shopper from redwood city, ca on 05/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish Best Uses: Cycling, Layering, Running, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When the days are cold I pull out this Icebreaker shirt and I feel warm. I hike daily in the morings and this works. It has thumbholes I am in love with at the moment, so the sleeves are a little long, but your hands stay warm. I love merino wool!!!!

By sparkyrunner from Cleveland, OH on 02/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking Best Uses: Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a wonderful, high-quality, athletic-fit top. I bought it thinking I would use it for cold weather running, but it is so soft and nicely made that I tend to wear it all the time, around the house or even on casual outings. The color is great (java/dolomite) and while it is close-fitting, you can easily layer a cotton shirt or even base/wicking layer underneath. I do not think it is that small--I'm 5'7" and about 125 and it fits great (size small). There is a bit of give to the fabric and it doesn't hug me completely. The wool is excellent; it is not itchy at all (and I have very sensitive skin). I also did not find the back arm gussets (mentioned by other reviewers) to be a problem.
I love wool.. it breathes and it's warm! I agree about the odd cut By NantucketSunrise from Somewhere, US on 01/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Natural, Quality, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Airplane flights, Around the house, Cold Weather, Out and About Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This top is great because it's the 320 weight wool which is heavier than the 260 and more like an outer sweater than a middle layer. I love the two colors I got (the blue and the green), but I will agree with the previous reviewer that there are some odd flaps under the arms which do stick out in a small way. On the green top, this issue is disconcerting to me (but not too huge a deal, because I'm going to keep it because I think I got the last green one in stock and the color is beautiful) and on the blue top the extra fabric under the arms is thankfully not so noticable. It's not a big deal - I think that Icebreaker tops have fit me so well in the past that I have high expectations now. One thing about this top is that the middle and bottom of the top is constructed in/inherently has a more structured fashion (probably due to the heavier material) and instead of draping softly around my waist and hips like the 260 fabric does (which seems to be more forgiving of love handle issues), this top kind of sits there on my hips with its own structure, not draping, and therefore it shows more obviously a little tummy pooch that I have. If you want to use this for layering, I'd say to order a size up. The small size was a bit smaller than I expected it to be, and I will not be able to wear anything underneath it (but I don't necessarily do much layering anyway, so I don't mind).
